SCHEDULE:
Classes meet every Tuesday for 3 hours from 6:45pm – 9:45pm. Electives are offered on the 3rd Saturday of each month.

Courses

Bible Study Methods and Rules of Interpretation (40 hrs)
Tuesdays: 9/4/07 – 12/4/07 or 2/12/08 5/13/08
The first week would be an introduction to the NIV Study Bible. This is an introduction to basic Bible study methods and rules of interpretation with emphasis on accurately understanding the Bible. The student will learn to determine what the Bible teaches and how it can be applied.

Old Testament Survey (60 hrs)
Tuesdays: 1/8/08 – 5/20/08 or 6/17/08 10/28/08
This is a class which will teach a broad overview and survey of the Old Testament designed to emphasize the structure, theme, and message of the Old Testament and each of its 39 books in order to provide understanding of God’s self-revelation and His plan of redemption.

New Testament Survey (60 hrs)
Tuesdays: 6/17/08 – 10/28/08 or 12/2/08 – 4/28/09
This is an overview survey of the New Testament with a focus on the theme, purpose, structure, and content of each of the New Testament books. A strong emphasis will be given to application.

Bible Doctrine Survey (60 hrs)
Tuesdays: 12/2/08 – 4/28/09 or 5/18/09 – 9/29/09
A survey and summary of the 10 major doctrines of the Bible with an emphasis on knowing God more fully while understanding and practicing sound theology.

Personal Spiritual Life (40 hrs)
Tuesdays: 5/19/09 – 8/18/09 or 10/13/09 – 2/2/10
This class teaches the Christian the basic concepts and principles of the spiritual life so they can personally grow to spiritual maturity and live a life that is pleasing to God.
Electives (not required):

Church History (60 hrs)
Saturdays: 9/15/07, 10/20/07, 11/17/07, 1/19/08, 2/16/08, 3/15/08, 4/19/08, 5/17/08, 6/21/08, 7/19/08, 8/16/08, 9/20/08, 10/18/08, 1/17/09, and 2/21/09
This class introduces the Christian to the principle people, the major political, historical and cultural developments, the main religious movements and the doctrinal issues which have influenced and shaped the Church throughout its 2000 year history.

Other electives (not required) may be offered in the future:

Communicating Biblical Messages (40 hrs)
Equips and trains lay people with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively prepare and deliver expository messages from God’s Word which are biblically sound and responsive to the needs of people.

Church Ministry, Administration, and Education (60 hrs)
This class introduces the Christian to the basic principles related to the nature, structure and function of the church. It imparts a practical knowledge which can be used in functional roles in the areas of ministry, education, and administration in the local church.

Missions, Evangelism, and Discipleship
This class grounds the Christian in the basic principles of outreach, evangelism, and discipleship so that the Church can accomplish its God-given task of bringing lost people to Christ and building them up in Christ.
