Class Overview
Are you a new believer? Are you a believer who cannot explain what the Bible teaches about God, Jesus Christ, salvation, the Holy Spirit, or the future? Do you want to grow in your faith? Then this class is for you!
"Bible Basics" is for anyone who wants to understand the basic teachings of the Bible. We will begin with how to read and understand the Bible, and then we will look at 52 major teachings of the Scriptures.
Meets: Wednesdays, 7:00-8:30pm (begins February 6)
Location: Worship Center Room 101/102
Class Fee: $25 (includes book and supplemental notes)
We will be using the book, Major Bible Themes by Lewis Sperry Chafer which will be provided on the first day of class. Supplemental notes will be handed out each week. Please bring something in/on which to take notes (notebook, laptop, tablet, etc). Homework will consist of answering the questions after each chapter of the text.
We plan to have 45-60 minutes of teacher presentation followed by breakout groups to discuss the questions for each chapter studied then pray with each other. We hope these groups offer an encouraging environment to support one another as you study the teachings of the Bible.
