Elizabeth Harper:

Elizabeth “Lizzie” Harper is a homegrown Valley Bible Church girl. As the third born of Pastor Phil and Caroline Howard, she has always considered Valley Bible Church and its members dear to her heart. She met her high school sweetheart, Matt Harper, in Valley's youth group and has been married to him for 25 years now. God has blessed them with three children that they consider as precious gifts. Fifteen years ago, she and her family moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where they currently reside. They serve in their home church, Fellowship Greenville Church, on their marriage ministry team to support and encourage couples in their marriage and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Lizzie received her Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling: Marriage and Family from Liberty University and she completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Hawaii in Professional studies with a theme in Health Administration while her husband served out his term in the Navy at Pearl Harbor. She is a Clinical Pastoral Counselor and Certified Temperament Counselor through the National Christian Counselors Association, NCCA. Lizzie is an active member of the American Association of Christian Counselors as well as the National Christian Counselors Association. She works as a Clinical Pastoral Counselor at a non-profit counseling ministry for women and couples called Life In Abundance in Greenville, SC.

Her passion is to continue to seek a walk with Jesus that puts his glory on display and to walk alongside others as they navigate the changes and situational difficulties that life can bring. Her heart’s desire is to know God and make Him known.

Rebecca Kirby:

Rebecca “Becky” Kirby was born, raised and currently lives in the upstate of South Carolina. While she was in the 8th grade, she met her future husband, Rick, at Tabernacle Baptist Church where they served together as members of a youth vocal group, The Agape Singers. The two were married in 1979. A daughter, Karla, was added to their family in 1985 with daughter, Kelly, joining in 1990.

Becky served alongside her husband in their church music ministry while teaching elementary music in the public school system. In the summer of 2002, at the age of 45, she was widowed when Rick was involved in a tragic traffic accident. He was only 47 years old. Karla and Kelly were 16 and 12, respectively. Although the Kirby family was forever changed, these three girls experienced the love and grace of God as never before. Throughout that difficult time, God continually kept His promise of peace and shelter in the time of the storm. And He’s holding them fast to this very day! Becky finds joy in sharing the truths He’s taught her through the years.

Becky received her BA in Music Education from Gardner-Webb College and her Masters in Education from Furman University. She was certified as a Pastoral Counselor in 2020 and is ready to begin a doctoral program through the National Christian Counselors Association. After teaching elementary music for over thirty years, she happily retired in 2018. In January of 2020, she joined the staff of her home church, Rocky Creek in Greenville, SC as staff counselor.

Becky is called by several names; mom, teacher, friend, counselor, small group leader to name a few. The best, by far, is ‘Granna’! She is the proud grandmother of 3, g-babies, with 2 more on the way. As God continues to open doors of ministry, Becky plans to walk boldly through them, pouring out the love of Jesus to those she meets all along the way.
